Pakenham Family Health opened its doors in mid-July 2010 and it took only three and a half months for our patient base to grow to 1,000 people! Now in our sixth month, the number of patients that we are looking after has surpassed 1,500, some of them traveling from as far as East Gippsland to be treated at the clinic. The overwhelming positive feedback that we have been getting from our patients, fellow medical professionals and medical suppliers has been very rewarding. It has made the hard work that we have put into opening of our medical centre worth it and encourages us to build on this strong platform by growing our team and service offering.
The fast-growing patient base has quickly filled up Dr Nikolic’s appointment book close to capacity and we are at the moment finalising agreements with another two experienced doctors who will be starting from early 2011. This will increase our clinical capacity and ensure that we can further improve the excellent service that we are providing to our patients.
Over the past few months we have already had some exciting additions to our team. Allyce, our Practice Nurse joined the team in August with Emma (Dietitian) and Leah (Psychologist) coming onboard in September. In October we introduced our on-site pathology collection facility with further plans to add services of a Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist and other Allied Health professionals.
There are exciting times ahead for our organisation and we look forward to growing along with Pakenham’s rapid expansion and population increase.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our patients for the trust they have placed in our organisation and to wish them and their families a Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year!
