Minor Surgical and Other Procedures

At Pakenham Family Health we have a fully equipped purpose built treatment room, where our doctors are able to perform a number of minor surgical and other procedures. This service offers prompt and cost effective, convenient option for our patient base with considerate lower waiting times than in hospitals. Our doctors are supported by a dedicated team of trained nurses equipped to perform minor surgical procedures under local anesthetic if so required.

The procedures our doctor are trained to perform are:

  • Removal of skin tags
  • Removal of foreign bodies
  • Wound care and suturing
  • Wart removal (dried ice)
  • Ear syringing
  • Suspected or malignant lesions excisions
  • Implanon insertion and removal
  • Iron Infusion
  • Venesection

 

Our practice offers Bulk-billing to both new and existing patients holding a valid Medicare card with no out-of-pocket cost for standard consultations from Monday to Friday
